Thousands of Fans Embrace Islam After UK Rapper’s Reversion

British rapper Central Cee has publicly confirmed that he has converted to Islam, announcing during a livestream that he took the Shahada, the Islamic declaration of faith, and adopted a Muslim name. He told viewers, “I just changed my name and took my Shahada, I am a Muslim now,” during a livestream with content creator PlaqueBoyMax. Central Cee’s birth name is Oakley Neil Caesar-Su and he is 27 years old, known for his career in UK rap and drill music.

The livestream announcement, in which friends present congratulated him, quickly circulated online and attracted widespread attention, with clips spreading across social media platforms. Coverage noted that Central Cee had not previously discussed his religious beliefs openly, although some fans had speculated based on earlier social media posts. His public disclosure marked a formal confirmation of his religious status and name change.

Reactions to Central Cee’s conversion have been reported across online and media channels, including expressions of support from some members of the Muslim community and commentary from fans and commentators discussing the significance of a high-profile music artist embracing Islam. The news has generated discussions about faith and public identity within the context of contemporary music culture.
