Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has introduced a resolution declaring that the Israeli government is committing geno-cide in Ga-za, saying the scale of civilian deaths requires urgent action. She announced the measure with 20 House co-sponsors and argued that the violence has continued despite the recent ceasefire announcement.

The resolution states that Israeli authorities have shown a pattern of geno-cidal intent and urges the United States to uphold its responsibilities under the Geno-cide Convention. It calls for the suspension of arms transfers and for accountability measures targeting individuals and corporations linked to the violence.

Tlaib said continued impunity has fueled further suffering in Ga-za and warned that the situation will not change without decisive intervention. Her co-sponsors include lawmakers such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Jim McGovern, Ro Khanna, and others from the progressive wing of the House.
