Netanyahu Meets Trump to Discuss Gaza ‘Ceasefire,’ Regional Issues

Benjamin Netanyahu met Donald Trump at the US president’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on Monday. The meeting took place amid concerns about potential Israeli war in the region. Discussions included the Ga-za ceasefire that came into effect in October, ending a two-year war.

Trump said he hoped to move quickly to the second phase of the Ga-za plan and stated that disarmament of Ham-as would be required. He also commented on Iran, saying the US would respond if Iran rebuilt its military capabilities, while adding that Iranian officials had expressed interest in a deal.

Netanyahu is making his fifth visit to see Trump in the US this year. Both leaders publicly praised each other during the meeting. Netanyahu is expected to seek US support on regional security issues, including Iran, Lebanon, and Syria.
