Yemen Holds ‘Million-Man March’ in Support of Palestine and Resistance Axis
Thousands of Yemenis gathered in the capital Sana’a on Friday in a mass rally expressing support for Pales-tinians amid the ongoing war on Ga-za. Demonstrators carried banners and chanted slogans showing solidarity with Pales-tinians and support for regional groups aligned with resistance movements. Similar rallies were also reported in several Yemeni provinces, including Sa’ada, Hudaydah, Hajjah, Ibb, Lahej, Bayda, Dhamar, Dhale, Ma’rib, and Raymah. Protesters voiced opposition to Israeli genocide in Ga-za and expressed support for Iran and Lebanon. Participants also declared backing for decisions made by Ansar-ullah leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi regarding responses to regional developments. Organisers of the rally stated that the demonstrations were intended to show Yemen’s continued political and public support for Pales-tinians. The rallies come as the war on Ga-za continues following Israel’s war crimes escalated in October 2023. According to Ga-za health authorities, more than 71,800 Pales-tinians have been killed during the genocide. Despite a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States last year, reports indicate that hostilities have continued, with additional casualties recorded since the truce.
